It's On: Old Navy Counters Kim Kardashian's Law Suit With an Investigation into her "Reputation"

When Kim Kardashian sued Old Navy over the brand's use of a lookalikeFauxdashian in one of their commercials, her complaint was that they created confusion in the marketplace and violated her rights to her name and likeness. Reportedly, Kim felt it would take about $20 million to put the situation right. Rather than laughing in the reality star's face, Old Navy parent company The Gap has upped the ante on the challenge, initiating an investigation to see just what Kardashian's good name is worth.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that The Gap will take a look into Kardashian's true financial worth to a brand, which will include an investigation into how muchBebe and Sears earned by making deals with Kardashian (you may recall that the Sears collection was already marked down by 30% when it debuted), and why Bebe ultimately dropped the the star.
Also under investigation is Kim's relationship with her ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush (who, creepily, is reportedly now dating Melissa Molinaro, the Kim-twin from the Old Navy commercial in question), as well as "Kardashian's reputation as a singer and dancer." (We're pretty sure they threw that last one in there just for fun.)
That said, if we've learned anything about the Dashes, it's that they don't take a lawsuit lying down. If Kim comes back swinging (which we fully anticipate she will), it should, at the very least, be an entertaining year for us all.
